For the past few years my job kept me focused on motion graphics and I began to really miss putting pen to paper. I wanted to commit to a long-term project - something that could help me focus on and develop the skills I felt were slowly slipping away. Thus, Sketch-A-Day was born, and my goal was to have one sketch in my sketchbook for every day of 2008. It started with simply a small sketch book and a black sharpie found in my desk drawer. Everything was going according to plan but towards the end of January I was growing tired of just seeing black and white sketches. I started adding color using my Chartpak AD markers, which really began to encourage my creativity. The sketches never had a specific theme, but a few trends slowly began to emerge. Some of the sketches were snapshots of my daily life, while many turned into typographic and/or illustrative experiments.
